During MSNBC’s coverage of the Republican primary results in Indiana Tuesday night, after the results were in, Chris Matthews took off his anchor cap for a juuust a moment and replaced it with his dirty old man cap. During a video replay of Trump walking to the podium accompanied by his wife Melania, Matthews got caught on what appeared to be a hot mic ogling Trump’s former supermodel wife. Brian Williams was wrapping up a conversation at the time and ever so slightly you can hear Matthews’ voice pop in off mic, saying:
“Look how she walks. Did you see her walk? That’s a runway walk. My God is that good… I could watch that runway show.”
Brian Williams stammered slightly and quickly went to a commercial break. A spokesperson for Melania Trump released this statement to Variety apparently in response to Matthews’ comments, but it could also be in response to the moon landing:
Melania Trump is an accomplished businesswoman and entrepreneur in her own right, achieving tremendous success in a variety of industries, including an illustrious modeling career, as well as being a dedicated wife and mother. It is unfortunate to see the continuous inaccuracies and misrepresentations made by the media of Mrs. Trump as anything less than the independently successful woman that she is.
